| Make a difference!!
Jonathan and Anessa Scott (the same girl from my college radio days) live in Lexington, Kentucky, with our three children Samuel, Leila, and Alaina. We now operate a community service to Special needs persons, inviting individuals with disabilities to participate in our DJ receptions, parties, and events, at your discretion. Jonathan began working with disabled persons in 2001, when Samuel was born. At the time, I didn't understand the job I was applying for, or how it would change my life, and the life of my family. I worked in group homes for 4 years, working with a wide range of individuals. I had the opportunity to help high-functioning individuals get involved in Special Olympics, and I provided total care for individuals with Cerebral Palsy. I left the field for a number of years, and got involved in Orphan Care and Adoptions, followed by several years in Hotel Convention Services Audiovisual, bascially meeting the whole world at an International hotel, and expanding my understaning of Audio, Video, and Customer Service. Returning to Special needs work in 2011, I am stunned at the choice I made to follow this sense of calling. I immediately began to work one-on-one with aspergers, and autistic persons, and my understanding and love for people with disabilities began to expand all over again. Keep in mind that throughout all these years of valuable employment, I've always been a DJ, I've always done Weddings, I've always done Birthdays, I've always been at the Corporate and School events. So the only logical thing left to do is bring the worlds together. In 2011, we began training persons with disabillities to become DJs, to explore new skills, and enjoy social interactions. You have reached AliveDJ Nation at a very special time. 2012 will be our greatest year ever of performing at Weddings, Birthdays, Corporate and School Events, and it will also mark our greatest year of Making a Difference! We invite you to make a difference with us! With your permission, we will attend your event along with one of our friends with special needs, and depending on their abilities and interest, they will participate in the program, help Setup the technology, Operate the sound system, be a DJ , be an Emcee, and/or enjoy the Social interaction with your guests. We are already gaining a lot of ground and experience doing this, and it is very rewarding work. So the way we see it, you've got a choice to make, and we look forward to hearing your answer. Do everything professional regarding the DJ for your reception, party or event, as in the standard process for hiring a DJ service, and THEN, Make a Difference!! | |
| Make a difference with "Special Friends" Sponsor one of our Special needs persons to participate in an event. Our regular DJ rates become a mobilizing force for persons with disabillities, not just a mobile DJ service. For each dollar you invest, we actually spend quality time with our "special friends," matching them to a DJ mentor, and events that are best suited to them. Can you imagine what it must be like for them? To be helpless in different ways to care for themselves, or make their own choices. Quite honestly, there quality of life is only as good as the people they get to be with, and the opportunities they have. Let's remove a great barrier together and the open the door for more individuals with disabilities to lead productive lives, and most of all be loved and care for, and believed in! You will be amazed at just how extraordinary their talents are, and you will wonder why you ever segregated them in your mind, and in your heart, we've all done it! Now is time to Make a Difference!! | | Make a difference with "Teens and Kids" Let's face it, the extracurricular plans of teens and kids today are staggeringly selfish. The benefits of academics, athletics, and the arts are clearly beneficial, but where in that process does a kid get exposed to caring for others. Surely life is more than actualizing your self, and becoming succesful in this world. Why don't we lay down our lives for others, and reach out to those who have fewer advantages in life. For each dollar you invest, we actually spend quality time with a teen or tween, whose family we have realtionship with, we match them to a DJ mentor, and events that are best suited to them. The beauty of this mentoring relationship, not only is the child learning all about respect, responsibility, technology, music, and social interaction, they are being exposed to world of individuals with special needs, because that is exactly where they will to get to go, to Special Needs Centers and Agencies that Serve persons with Disabilites, people we often Forget about! | |
